Please help!

Whatever I do, I can't seem to take a decent photo of myself. I always look... well... like i'm thinking about what i'm doing (composition, lighting) as the shutter does its thing. I know that I can get somebody else to take a picture of me, but that would be cheating, wouldn't it?

Any suggestions would be welcomed with much appreciation.
